Zabbix alerts don't have much info, if you have some hosts monitored by snmp you can have that info in alerts. I will show you how to add to alert items and Inventory fields. and So first let add them to inventory and switch Inventory to automated.
You can choose any Inventory field for any item.
First choose what to add.
I want System Name and System Location
If you add it to template, it will be added automatically to all hosts monitored by that template. In the Configuration -> Actions menu you have to add that field to message body, subject can be only 256 characters long, i suppose.
All defined Zabbix macros see the macros http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/2.2/manual/appendix/macros/supported_by_location
So add {INVENTORY.NAME} or {{HOSTNAME}:system.name.last(0)} where system.name is key of monitored item.
So it is easier to choose {INVENTORY.TYPE.FULL}and then you can add all type of hosts to one Action. You can add items too by adding double quotation marks see the
http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/1.8/manual/config
http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/1.8/manual/config
Of course if you already have a lot of hosts you can add both items to action.
You can add items directly to Action, but items can vary from one host to another. This router have system.name
So both values was sent successfully, see the picture below
Dont know about previous versions this is done in Zabbix 2.02 If you are operator monitoring systems via Zabbix you have to forward messages to level 3 support according to roles, you can automate message forwarding adding all info in message so you don't have to get in to Zabbix search for host ip adress, model or another info.
